In a very late return for your card, thanks for
the same. Did you think I was never going to
send one in return? I have had so many to
answer.
Yours truly,

1913 Postcard from Grace to sister in Plattsburgh, NY
Dear Friend:

Mother got home yesterday. It
seems good to have her home
too. The flowers are fine. The
first I have seen this year.  When
papa came home I asked if you
had any and he said you did. I
was awfully glad to get them
and I thank you. This picture
is our house.

Plattsburgh first became a town on April 4, 1785. The Town of Peru was removed in 1792, Beekmantown in
1820, Saranac in 1824 and then Schuyler Falls in 1838.
It was named for
Zephaniah Platt who, with 32 associates, was granted at tract of seven square miles in 1785.
The first three families who settled under this grant were those of Charles Platt,
Charles McCreedy and Kinner
Newcomb.
